What does a Khmer medical interpreter do?
A Khmer medical interpreter helps Khmer-speaking patients and English-speaking healthcare providers communicate accurately about symptoms, medications, treatment plans, procedures, consent and follow-up care.
Is Khmer the same as Cambodian?
Khmer is the primary language of Cambodia. People often use “Khmer interpreter” and “Cambodian interpreter” when searching for the same language service.
Where is in-person service available?
In-person Khmer-English interpretation is available only within Phoenix Metro, Arizona.
Are OPI and VRI available outside Arizona?
Yes. Scheduled OPI phone and VRI video interpretation are available remotely across the United States. Appointment times are displayed in Arizona Time (MST).
How much does in-person interpretation cost?
$190 minimum for up to 2 hours, then $90 per hour beginning with the third hour.
How much does OPI cost?
$75 per hour with a 30-minute minimum ($37.50).
How much does VRI cost?
$90 per hour with a 30-minute minimum ($45).
Can a hospital or clinic book directly?
Yes. Hospitals, clinics and approved organizations can book directly and may be invoiced after service through their normal Accounts Payable process.
Do private clients pay before confirmation?
Yes. Private clients use secure Stripe checkout before the appointment is confirmed.
What information should I put in the notes field?
Use the notes field only for practical scheduling details such as department, parking, access or interpreter instructions. Do not submit unnecessary diagnoses, medical-record numbers, Social Security numbers or detailed clinical history.
